CURRENT NEWS AND EVENTS
WHO DO YOU SAY THAT I AM? This is the question that Jesus asks his disciples in the Gospel of Mark and it is the question that Jesus asks us today. It is a question of discipleship because who you say Jesus is will determine how you follow Him. Our theme this year at The Springs is "Grow" and we are focused on growing into the image of Christ through discipleship. Join us on Sunday mornings for the series Following Jesus: The Gospel of Mark, as we discover who Jesus is and the way he is calling us to follow Him.
HELPERS ARE NEEDED in a few areas in children's classes and in the nursery, set to resume Sunday, April 25. If you are interested in being a loving presence during class or worship for our Springs Kids, contact Kendall Fike, firstname.lastname@example.org
COMMUNION VOLUNTEERS ARE NEEDED starting in June. If you are interested in becoming a communion prep volunteer (sign up is for one month) please follow this link or contact Arianne Gillham, email@example.com
PEACEMAKING will be the topic for our adult bible class during the month of April. Each year in April, our church remembers that God calls us not toward a posture of division and strife but toward love and peace. Come learn practical ways we might adopt a posture of peace in our marriages, our parenting, and our overall lives. Holly Osburn, our delegate for Peacemaking, will teach this class Sunday mornings at 9:30 a.m. in the auditorium.
WEDNESDAY EVENING BIBLE STUDY resumes April 28 with a study of Heaven, using the book of the same title by Randy Alcorn. We will meet in the lobby of the Worship Center from 6:30-8 p.m. Please contact Dayla Harris to order a study guide. Cost of the guide is $9. firstname.lastname@example.org
THE SUNDAY MORNING WOMEN'S CLASS will resume on May 2 with a new study by Priscilla Shirer, "Faith and Fire: Elijah." Join us on this 7-session journey through the life and times of the prophet Elijah to discover how the fire on Mount Carmel was forged in the valley of famine, and how the emboldened, fiery faith you desire is being fashioned by God in your life right now. Sunday mornings, 9:30 a.m. in room 113.
A BABY BOY SHOWER FOR CHANDLER URBAN is scheduled for Saturday, May 1, 10 a.m. at The Springs. Chandler is the newborn son of Charina and Will Urban. Come help us celebrate Chandler! They are registered at babylist.com/baby-registry-aurban
CONNECTIONS GROUPS are still meeting! Gatherings may look different, but our desire for relationships and connection is as strong as ever. Let's talk about CONNECTING and GROWing in our faith. We have options and ideas on encouraging your growth as a leader, as well as on how to improve relationships and become more intimate with people instead of electronic devices. Start the conversation by contacting Jason Henley at 405-204-0312 or email@example.com
IN 2021, OUR FOCUS AS A CHURCH IS TO GROW! We want to grow in our love for God, each other, and our neighbor! One of the ways we can foster a deeper love for God is to discover the truth and beauty of God’s Word together through regular Bible reading. We are beginning a year-long Bible reading plan in January. Our hope is that you will begin your day alone with God, reading scripture, and then responding to his love with action. We will be using the Bible reading app READ SCRIPTURE. You can download the app now, or check it out at readscripture.org Let’s GROW together!
